WEAVER HOTEL MANAGER
Waterville, Kansas
The Weaver Hotel is seeking a fulltime manager to be responsible for all operations of this 10-room historic hotel. Located in Waterville, Kansas, the Weaver Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Weaver Hotel was recently restored to its original glory as a 1905 railroad hotel.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing the Weaver Hotel’s overall operation through maintaining established quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and marketing special events and exceeding guest expectations. Reporting to the operating committee of the Waterville Preservation Society (WPS), this position has access to a pool of dedicated volunteers for special events and light work as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Manages all sources of revenue including the room rentals, gift shop and special events. Ensures all activities are profitable and maintain high quality standards.
2. Performs duties of a sales and marketing manager including making marketing calls; attending community business functions; coordinating sales promotions; managing the website; and generating the desired “experience” for guests.
3. Assures breakfast for the guests is readily available and served in a hospitable manner.
4. Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
5. Promotes the Waterville community and the hotel’s history and charm to guests through direct and indirect interaction.
6. Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance. Responsible for proper maintenance of hotel property.
7. Protects the hotel and its furnishings through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
8. Adheres to all standard operating procedures of a historic hotel.
9. Ensures bank deposits are made timely and accurately.
10. Produces monthly financial reports and knows at all times where the hotel stands against budget. Provides timely finance and operations reports to the operating board of the WPS.
11. Orders supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance to acceptable practices.
12. Ensures staff receives proper training and guidance for their responsibilities, including hospitality training, safety training and standard operating procedures.
13. Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
14. Fosters good relations with the Waterville Preservation Society and the Friends of the Weaver Hotel volunteer group.
15. Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws.
16. Available 24/7 with reliable transportation.

Education/Experience:
Previous experience in the hotel hospitality field preferred.

Staffing requirements:
